It's been an interesting year so far.  The economy is bad, but beads are still selling, though not at the pace of a few years ago.  Ebay is the place to see all my newest beads, so check out my ebay store.  You can get to it through the link on the lampwork bead pages.

 

I've been experimenting with glass fusing for a while now, so expect to see some pendants and other items show up here in the near future. 

 

My newest project stemmed from a request from my father-in-law.  He is an avid supporter of my work asked if I could make something for him.  I couldn't imagine him wanting any of my beads, so I put together some little fused pieces and made them into cufflinks for him. and my husband as well.  Since then I've improved my fusing skills, and recently I made a new set of matching cufflinks for my husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law.  They were a big hit with the guys.  My husband liked them so much,  he encouraged me to try adding them to my website.  So hold your hats folks....  they'll be here soon.

 

I'm getting excited about putting up the cufflinks.  I have a tray of fused pieces waiting for the cufflink blanks to arrive.  I use a two part jeweler's epoxy to attach the blanks to the glass.  After they are all glued on, its off to the photo booth and then onto the site. 

 

Getting this gorgeous glass photographed properly is going to be quite a challenge.  The pieces have so much depth and sparkle that is hard to capture in a two dimensional image.  I'll do my best, but know that dichroic glass is ALWAYS more beautiful in hand.  If I could do a video of a piece being turned in the light, you'd start to get the idea.  But I'm not a videographer.  Maybe I should grab a younger person and ask them to show me how! 

 

 Ok, so the cufflinks aren't up yet and here it is DECEMBER already.  I had a little problem with the supplier of the cufflink blanks and had to find a new one.  So, rest assured that I will have them up here eventually!
